Prior to joining IG, Scott spent a decade teaching and practicing economics at universities across Canada. From there he found his way into the Western Canadian oil field. Never afraid of getting his hands dirty, he drove a truck and then spent two years on drilling rigs across Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Scott and his wife are raising two teenage sons, and he enjoys basketball, power lifting, Unix computing environments, and cooking. The cuisines of Northern India, Southern Italy, and the assorted barbecue traditions of the American South make regular appearances on the menu, as do his wife's elaborate desserts.
